Devil’s Arch

Devil’s Arch is a popular hike in Sedona, AZ. It’s not really far from the trailhead – maybe a mile but you can’t really drive to the trailhead (unless you have a jeep, SUV or other type of vehicle with four wheel drive and a high clearance) so you need to walk a mile or two from your car to the trailhead. I was planning on heading out for some sunrise shots but we wound up getting to the hotel after midnight and starting my day in a few hours didn’t seem like a good idea.

There is something to just sitting and relaxing – letting it all go. There were a few people out here at the same time we were but for the most part we were on our own. Looking out on a painted landscape and marveling at the work the world has done to make itself beautiful is pretty amazing. We are certainly all just witnesses of the world’s beauty. It’s been a long week and I’m ready to sleep in tomorrow. Here’s hoping I can stay asleep until 8 AM…that would be such a treat!
