We drove back to Detroit this afternoon for Thanksgiving with my family. Driving here I couldn’t help but recall the last time that I made the drive as Detroit was battling the Giants in the World Series. They eventually got swept but the game and the atmosphere near the ballpark was pretty awesome. The Fox Theater is a very historic theater in Detroit and it was also one of the hotspots for the pre-game party.

We are running in the 30th annual turkey trot on Thursday morning. G is planning to dress in a turkey costume and I’ll be dressed as a pilgrim. If you happen to catch the festivities on TV – see if you can spot us in the crowd. The atmosphere downtown should be similar to that of the pre-game as there are around 25,000 people that run the race and the parade follows shortly after the start. The Detroit Lions play their annual Turkey Day game at noon which will bring the sports crowd downtown.
